About Continued

1990’S MILESTONES:
• Charles Stayton, a wood products specialist for the Texas Agricultural Extension Service at Texas A&M University, developed educational programs for producers and consumers of wood products, endorsed TWP® and regional demand for the product skyrocketed, particularly within the log home industry
• TWP® was highly ranked and published in a Consumer Reports magazine and sales skyrocketed again, this time on a more national level
As Gemini continued to grow, often as the result of TWP® beginning a relationship with many of Gemini’s expansions into new paint manufacturer and paint store relationships, the brand grew to a more national level. Its quality and performance continued to drive sales and the brand flourished coast to coast. Paint companies such as Glidden Paint, Kwal Paint, and Kelly-Moore Paint, to name a few, were promoting the brand as its performance drove repeat sales. These organizations were utilizing the TWP® brand to pursue not only DIY business but also professional applicators who liked the performance of this relatively new brand of exterior stain. While a lot of industry consolidation has occurred within the architectural paint store channel, many of these companies still sell TWP® today and it is still growing!
In 2009, the TWP®1500 series was introduced as a lower VOC alternative to the TWP®100 series for states like California and now many Midwest and northeast states who were rapidly revising their VOC regulations requiring lower VOC formulas to be sold within their state. The TWP®1500 series meets VOC regulations everywhere with a distinct advantage, as wood preservatives are a stand-alone category within the federal register at 350 grams per liter, vs. 250 grams per liter for an exterior stain. A distinct application advantage! TWP can also be purchased through multiple architectural paint store partners today, in addition to ACE, True Value and Do-it-Best, and many other lumber and hardware retailers. TWP is vastly sold through several e-commerce retailers, as well. Visit us or utilize our Dealer Locator feature at www.www.usetwp.com. to find out more.
